This is not a development team that has simply dropped in with bulldozers and bankers, looking to make a quick buck and then to never see the land again. In fact, you should expect to see them in our restaurants, on the golf course and on our beaches as they plan to live at Ara Macao.

Along with their demonstrated commitment to the land,
they also have demonstrated their commitment to the people and communities of Belize. They’ve delivered computers to schools, have sponsored local soccer
programs and have worked side-by-side with their neighbors to build homes for families in the communities. Upon completion of the first phase, the development team will provide hundreds of jobs and training programs to help support our neighbors.

See below for a partial listing of the community programs the development team has participated in over the past 3 years:
  • Sponsorship of the H.A.N.D.S. Foundation which allowed secondary school tuitions (high school) to be paid for needy students in the Stann Creek West District of Belize during the years of 2005, 2006 and 2007.
  • Sponsorship through Hand-in-Hand Ministries, a “Building for Change” home was built for a needy
    family in Placencia, Belize in February of 2008. Volunteers from the U.S.A. and Canada were gifted with the thanks from the recipient and locals from the surrounding villages. Another home build is being planned for 2009 and volunteers are encouraged to contact us to join in our efforts to help the local community once again.
  • Presented a 20 foot container loaded with computers and educational supplies to the people of Seine Bight village, Belize. Dell computers, printers, teacher aids, educational books, all donated by Ara Macao were presented to the Seine Bight village officials, Ministers, teachers and locals.
  • Sponsorship of the Seine Bight Beauty Pageant.
  • Sponsorship of the Seine Bight and Garifuna Days.
  • Hands on involvement – Road Repair, Beach Cleanup, Garbage Cleanup etc.
  • Sponsorship of local Soccer and Basketball teams.
